Monthly Small Group Reflective Supervision

for HFNY Program Managers and Supervisors

NYS-AIMH is offering a 12-month reflective consultation group experience for HFNY Program Managers and Supervisors, beginning August 2024.   Program Managers will have their own group and Program Supervisors will have their own group. The groups will meet monthly for 90 minutes and will be facilitated by an endorsed qualified provider of reflective supervision.
The purpose of the group is to offer you the opportunity to connect and join with colleagues in your role. You'll reflect on your work, recognize common ground, build relationships and learn together.  The hours spent in this group will count towards RSC hours needed to earn the Endorsed Reflective Supervisor endorsement through NYS-AIMH!

  • The Program Manager group will meet on the 4th Tuesdays of the month, 9am-10:30am
  • The Supervisors group will meet on the 4th Tuesdays of the month, 11am - 12:30pm

(2 exceptions: Groups will meet on the 3rd Tuesdays for September and December: September 17 and December 17

  • Facilitated and guided by Wendy Bender, LCSW-RIECMH-E®, an Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and private consultant. She provides training on numerous topics in the Infant Mental Health field and provides Reflective Supervision/Consultation for individuals and groups across the country. Wendy had been with New York’s Greater Capital Region Infant Mental Health Association since 2008. She is a founding board member of the New York State Association for Infant Mental Health and served as Executive Director. She participated on the statewide leadership team of the New York State Pyramid Model Partnership and chaired a workgroup of the Early Childhood Advisory Council, with a focus on workforce development. She worked for many years with Prevent Child Abuse New York, providing training and staff development for the Healthy Families New York Home Visiting program. Wendy has provided clinical social work in a high-risk maternity unit; she coordinated a “baby team” in Early Intervention and worked with preschool children with special needs and their families. She worked as a pediatric social worker at a physical rehabilitation hospital providing clinical services for injured and ill children and their families. She has more than 40 years’ experience providing clinical social work and reflective supervision.
  • These groups will serve to meet the RS/C requirements for The NYS-AIMH Endorsement®

This is a wonderful opportunity for those ready to commit to monthly, 90 minute meetings with their small group “team,” to share their work – celebrate successes, get help with challenges, -and hear others share their work; and to have their experiences held by a skilled facilitator.

Cost: FREE courtesy of a OCFS Grant!
