Do you wonder about the benefits, the process and want to learn more?

There has been a long-standing challenge to the Reflective Supervision Consultation (RSC) requirements necessary to meet the Infant Family Specialist category for the NYS-AIMH Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health®. The requirement for receiving RSC from a facilitator who is endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Specialist/Mentor-Clinical has often been difficult.

The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health (The Alliance) heard your concerns and undertook a several year process to view this challenge from an equity, inclusion, and diversity lens. They acknowledged that these requirements perpetuate a system of power and privilege by placing the greatest value on one’s attainment of higher education - a system that is unfairly and unevenly accessible across communities. They stated, “The Endorsement, a competencies-based workforce development system, is meant to honor professionals who apply Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health principles to their practice. These requirements assign the preponderate value to formal education as opposed to competencies.”

The result is that a new category of Endorsement has been created and will roll out in this fall -  Infant/Early Childhood Family Reflective Supervisor (I/ECFSR).

Join us on Monday, October 3rd , from 12:00 until 1:30 Learn how you can meet requirements and support yourself and your staff toward the NYS-AIMH Endorsement®
